9/11 RAGE&REBIRTH

TOURYA OTHMAN \\ CURTIS W. READEL \\ HAMZA HALLOUBI

Exhibit 11 Sept – 31 Oct 2008 - Jonas Gallery Brussels

You remember where you where or what you were doing on September 11th 2001. Everybody does! And you cannot help but wonder what a tremendous impact this fatal event has made on the world as a whole but probably on your own life as well.

To commemorate 9/11 in the final year of the Bush era, three very different and amazing artists have been brought together by Jonas Gallery in Brussels for an eclectic group show featuring Tourya Othman (USA/Belgium/ Morocco), Curtis William Readel (USA), and Hamza Halloubi (Belgium/Morocco).

For Tourya, it’s the first homecoming exhibition since 9/11, while Curtis makes his debut in the capital of Europe and for Hamza it is his first major gallery exhibition in his city of residence.

These 3 artists, a woman and two men, are each in a very different life stage, have very diverse backgrounds and use totally different techniques but share their talent and a dramatic common experience to express their most inner emotions and feelings on the unforgettable attack of 9/11. The exhibit gives us an opportunity to reflect and appreciate the incredible work that has emanated from a trio of artists who have never met before but who are equally concerned about the future…
